EXCURSION AT PORTOVENERE AND LERICI

With your chauffeur you have the opportunity in the morning to discover Lerici. A country with an ancient history. Its symbol is the castle of San Giorgio, which stands on a promontory overlooking the sea since the thirteenth century. The village has a typically Ligurian medieval structure, as you can see from the narrow alleys that cross the houses. In the historical part of the village there is a small Jewish quarter. Lerici is also part of the Golfo dei Poeti (Gulf of Poets), not only because it overlooks the gulf, but because in the past some writers lived there, for example Percy Bysshe Shelley. Before lunch your driver will drive you to Portovenere where you can visit this beautiful fortified village, nestled between the cliffs of Mount Muzzerone and Palmaria Island. During your visit, after the lunch break in one of the many typical local restaurants, you can admire the churches of San Pietro built overlooking the sea and San Lorenzo where important masterpieces and relics are preserved. At the end of the day you will return to your hotel or cruise ship.
